They looked disinterested for most of the game. I will count the 2 pre season games...11 losses in row to the clowns in San Jose, just horrible

I believe there's currently a significant drop off in talent once that first line takes a seat. It's not so much lack of interest, it's lack of top six talent!

That awkward moment when you can't muster one goal on J.S. Giguere, and one of the worst defensive units. LOL

What's your folks take on the Rags? AV the next coach taken to the wood shed?

Haven't seen a game, so can't offer an educated comment...but I can't say I'm surprised.

Edler still thinks AV is the coach, pulling the typical Canuck garbage. Haha, im partially kidding because i havent been following the Canucks really too much. Honestly though i cant say i was surprised when i read that one of the Canucks might be facing a suspension.

Need two lines to consistently produce or be a threat. Damn the sharks are deep.

We need another trigger man in the top 6. I think someone mentioned Torts did not breaking up the Sedins again, I was hoping to see if it would spur some life into the Canucks in the 3rd period.

Wondering what the lineup will look like with Kassian and then Burrows' return. Stanton hasn't disappointed or drawn any attention for the wrong reasons. Picking Alberts to be sent down/waivers. Hoping Schroeder is given an opportunity.

Take a look at the hit before commenting, it's really not that bad at all. They're just trying to be diligent about head-shots, which this IMO was borderline with no intent whatsoever.

agreed. I still suspect a fine but I'd be surprised with an actual suspension.

Honestly I'm not even worried about this season. I see a team that's going to spend this season adjusting to a new coach, and system; whilst management locks up the Sedin twins long term.

We will see the "new" Canucks next season after MG brings in a UFA top 6 guy, with Gaunce, Horvat, Shinkaruk, Jensen, and Corrado all having a great chance to make the team.

It's pathetic that it's even being reviewed:
- Did NOT extend his elbow
- Did NOT jump off of the ice
- Did NOT even make direct contact with Hertl's head

If this is a suspension then I'm done even commenting or trying to comprehend what the hell this league is doing until some new people are in charge.

I saw the hit, just havent been following the canucks in general. I read Edler could be facing a suspension then looked up the hit. At best id say you could argue that the shark player had his head down, but to me it looked like Edler's shoulder hit the guy in the head (as evidence by the helmet flying off). Granted helmets have been knocked off by shoulder to shoulder hits. All im saying is I wasnt surprised to see that a canuck COULD be facing a suspension. No hiding it here, i dont like the canucks. Just my view point

Yes I agree...a fine, which would be a shot across his bow as they say.

you're correct on the first two but dead wrong on the last one. Clearly visible that edler's shoulder made first contact with Hertl's helmet, popping it off.

no intent I agree, but it did make principle contact to the head. without the intent and without the hit causing injury, I see a fine.

the fine to send the message that the league is tough on headshots, and no games to edler because frankly it wasn't a hit that deserved a suspension.

Agreed. I think his recent history might ignite a 1 or 2 game suspension. The fact Kassian got 8 games for something that is tough to prove was even deliberate is beyond me. So I won't be surprised whatever happens.

Grazed the head IMO, and Hertl moved pretty quickly at the last second, originally Edler had him lined up for a should to shoulder head...maybe that's just me being helplessly bias though.

One angle gives a better view of hit and definitely makes it look like he hit his shoulder and came up which caused the helmet to pop off. You don't need to hit a players head to have a helmet come off. Hertl didn't even fall

Well by direct I meant actually got a good piece of him(some angles only show shoulder contact). Seemed to me like Hertl completely changed Edler's angle by moving out of the way at the last second. It's similar to the boarding incidents when a player is standing sideways and once an opposing player commits to hitting him, the "victim" player turns his back to him at the last half second drawing a penalty and potentially more.

Hertl is reaching for the puck right before he gets hit. The kid just put himself in a vulnerable position, and I don't see a scenerio where Edler could do something different.

I don't think he gets suspended.
